  Who runs the Beer Festival?

 

Warwick Beer Festival was a brand new venture for the Lions in 2009 (prompted by the fact that several of us like beer festivals) and has grown every year since. 2011 saw us move into the larger indoor marquee at the racecourse, which is a great venue for a summer beer festival, whatever the weather. We have a great beer selection, hot food and some great live entertainment too, so we hope you will continue to support us at the event each year. It’s purpose is to raise money for various charitable causes supported by the Lions, with a large part of the money going to Warwick people/causes that need our help. The event is organized by a committee of members from within the Warwick Lions club. The Lions and helpers are all local volunteers who give their time and effort free of charge to ensure the festival is a success and give something back to their community.
It goes without saying that some of the club are quite partial to the odd real ale, so can quite often be found on both sides of the bar!

Warwick Lions Club is a part of Lions Clubs International, a community service organization dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why. We are just ordinary people, not rich business types and have no secret hand shakes, just people that want to do their bit for the good of our community.


Since 1917, Lions have served the world's population through hard work and commitment to make a difference in the lives of people everywhere. With 1.4 million members serving in more than 44,800 clubs in 187 countries and geographical areas, Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization. The association is non-political and non-sectarian.


The Warwick Lions Club was founded in 1960 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2005. The club has become a well established part of the community and contributes thousands of pounds every year to local charities and good causes.

All of the money we raise goes to good causes and charities. Lions members take no expenses. They pay for the club's social events as well as for the running of the organization.

 

If you feel you would like to help others and have fun in the process, then why not come along to a meeting and give it a try. We meet every first and third Wednesday of the month at 8.00 pm in the Warwick Arms Hotel on Warwick High Street.
